Our Story

The Edgerly family have been running Great Bay Camping since 1987. First by Patricia Edgerly for 17 years with the help of her husband (Larry) and Children (Chris, Dan, David, And Fallon). Throughout these years Patricia transformed the campground into a relaxing destination for people who just love camping and the outdoors. She would host many events within the campground like Kick the can, water balloon games, many handmade crafts, and always finds time to chat with her campers and tell a story. She helped renovate the campground landscape and stack so many cords of wood to sell to her campers. She put her children to work teaching them skills they still use today. Always a role model and willing to give advice. Once she retired (but not really) she was always an integral part of Great Bay Camping. Until her passing, the summer of 2014. She is greatly missed by all of her family and camping friends.

David Edgerly is now managing the campground along with some help from his daughter Kayleigh. Since taking over responsibility David has demolished and replaced the bathhouse. (one of the nicest you will ever see/use at a campground) David continues to improve and modernize the campground while keeping it simple camping. He is just like his mother, checking on campers and lending a hand where he needs. Always trying to provide the best customer service he can.

David continues to adapt and create new event for his campers like music, Cribbage tournaments, cornhole tournaments, cook offs, and many more.

While camping has changed over the years the Edgerlys’ still pride themselves on providing a quite place for families to enjoy the grounds and relax by a fire. As they have always said “whether you’re here for a few days or longer, you will soon become part of our extended camping family.”

Our Principles

Keep camping simple

We are not a resort, just simple camping. so family can spend time together and create memories

Enjoy the outdoors

Put down the electronics, go fishing, ride a bike, swim in the pool, cook over the fire, make a s’more. (David has a great recipe)

Rain or shine its better than work

Always lend a hand

Spending time with family and friends is better than sitting in the office, car, ect. take the time to relax and enjoy all of it.

Campers are great neighbors, help each other out so we all have a great stay!
